"Of no military Importance" by Robert Louis Souter, collected and edited by Col J Clemence CBE TD

Born in 1903 Robert Souter was winning prizes for his drawings in 1915. In 1931 he joined to London Scottish Regiment TA, and was mobilised in 1939. In 1943 he took part in the Anzio landings and was taken prisoner spending the rest of the war as a POW. Before the war he contributed cartoons to the Regimental Gazette and throughout his service he has a sketchbook with him. Upon capture the Germans regarded his bundle of sketches as quote "of no military importance".
This 228 page book has been complied and edited by Colonel John Clemence CBE TD and is a unique collection of cartoons, poems, and articles which he produced relating to his service with the London Scottish Regiment.
